On September 20 the solemn opening ceremony of the 2nd Forum of Youth Initiatives of Russia and Azerbaijan was held at the site of the Nizhny Novgorod Fair. Each country was represented here by 50 delegates. They were leaders of youth movements, representatives of youth public organizations, students and representatives of structures and departments implementing youth policy.
Participants were welcomed by the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Indira Hajiyeva, the Acting Director of the Department of State Youth Policy and Educational Activities of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Alexander Vedekhin, the Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Andrey Gneushev and the Director of the Institute of Education under the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan Rufat Azizov.
“The young generation has a special role in shaping the present and building the future of Russian-Azerbaijani relations. And we, for our part, are ready to assist this in every possible way,” Grigory Petushkov, the Chairman of the National Youth Council of Russia, said commenting on the opening of the forum.
Recall that on November 22, 2016 the agreement was signed between the National Council of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (NAYORA) and the National Youth Council of Russia. This agreement contributes to the emergence of lively interesting ideas that are being implemented strengthening the relationship between youth of our countries.
The National Youth Council of Russia has been fruitfully cooperating with the National Council of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan for many years. Partners jointly prepared and held nine forums for youth of our countries.
Today, these large-scale bilateral events have reached a new level. The 2nd Forum of Youth Initiatives of Russia and Azerbaijan has become one of the key youth events in 2022 held through bilateral youth cooperation. The first such forum was held in March in Gusar in Azerbaijan and gave rise to interesting joint work, the embodiment of youth ideas in the most important joint projects.
The purpose of the 2nd Forum of Youth Initiatives of Russia and Azerbaijan was the presentation and implementation of effective mechanisms for practical interaction between young leaders of Russia and Azerbaijan in the field of humanitarian cooperation.
Within three days participants will have a presentation of opportunities for youth in Russia and Azerbaijan, programs and projects in the field of youth policy as well as lectures and practical exercises on the implementation of ideas. The forum will end with the presentation of projects developed in teams.
The forum was organized from the Russian side by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Rosmolodyozh, the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and MIREA – Russian Technological University, from the Azerbaijani side – the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
