On September 26 the 8th Armenian-Russian Youth Forum opened in Hrazdan, in the Republic of Armenia. The traditional event is held alternately in two countries.
Representatives of republican, regional youth public organizations, leaders of youth movements, students and representatives of structures implementing youth policy in Armenia and Russia take part in the forum.
At the opening of the event guests and participants were welcomed by the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Artur Martirosyan, the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Grigory Gurov, the Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Minister of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the Russian Federation Arsen Arakelyan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Armenia Sergei Kopyrkin, the founder of the Russian Book House in Armenia Mher Avetisyan.
The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Russia, Grigory Petushkov, also addressed participants and honored guests with a greeting.
“The younger generation has a special role to play in shaping the present and building the future of Russian-Armenian relations. And we, for our part, are ready to contribute to this in every possible way,” Grigory Petushkov said.
He wished forum delegates to continue the mutual interest of youth of two countries in promising mutually beneficial cooperation, so that more interesting and necessary projects in which youth could develop themselves would appear.
Topics of the forum in 2022 were:
- youth activity in regions,
- non-formal education and innovation,
- youth activities in universities,
- volunteer movement.
Forum organizers were the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, RTU MIREA – the basic organization of the CIS Member States for working with youth and the National Youth Council of Russia.
