On November 24-25 a regular meeting of the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS Member States was held in Moscow. Its participants summed up the work in 2021–2022 and outlined plans for the next two years.
During the event the significant contribution to the development of international youth cooperation of RTU MIREA, the basic organization of the CIS Member States for working with youth, was noted.
As it is known, 2024, 2025 and 2026 in the CIS have been declared respectively the Year of the Volunteer Movement, the Year of the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War – the Year of Peace and Unity in the fight against Nazism and the Year of Health Protection. In this regard it was decided to develop a draft Action Plan for holding the Year of the Volunteer Movement in the Commonwealth in 2024 in cooperation with other bodies of sectoral cooperation of the CIS Member States. This project will be submitted for consideration by the CIS Council of Heads of Government.
It was also decided that in October next year Minsk will host the finals of the International Youth Project of the CIS Member States “100 Ideas for the CIS”. The preparation of national delegations for the trip to this event begins.
The meeting discussed candidacies of cities claiming the status of “Youth Capital of the CIS” in 2024, 2025 and 2026. Representatives of national departments implementing state youth policy in Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Armenia made presentations of their candidates.
They also talked about the Commonwealth Youth Esports Games, the growing popularity of the e-library “Youth of the CIS”, the Russian Program for Youth and Student Tourism.
The meeting was chaired by the member of the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS Member States, the Chairman of the National Youth Council of Russia, the Vice-Rector for Youth Policy of RTU MIREA – the basic organization of the CIS Member States for working with youth Grigory Petushkov.
After the meeting its participants visited laboratories and sites of RTU MIREA as well as the technopark of the university.
