From July 26 to July 28, 2022 Moscow will host the Russia-Africa Youth Public Forum. It will bring together 100 of the brightest representatives of youth organizations in Russia and Africa.
The Russia-Africa Youth Public Forum will be aimed at strengthening friendship and mutual understanding, building long-term partnerships between youth of Russia and African countries. The foundation for youth cooperation that will be laid during the forum will depend on the development and capacity building of a solid institutional framework for youth cooperation between countries and subsequently on the discussion and creation of new effective institutions and mechanisms for interaction between Russian and African youth.
The purpose of the forum is to develop the Russian-African youth dialogue and build systematic work between youth public associations in Russia and African countries.
Forum tasks:
- to establish friendly and professional ties between youth leaders and youth public associations in Russia and African countries,
- to create conditions for the exchange of experience, further cooperation and development of joint projects between youth leaders and youth public associations of Russia and African countries,
- to develop proposals and recommendations for the development of youth cooperation and forms of interaction between youth of Russia and African countries.
The work of the forum is planned in the following areas:
- education, science and technology,
- youth entrepreneurship and start-ups,
- youth leadership and civic engagement of youth,
- creative industries.
Candidates must meet the following profile criteria to participate in the forum:
- be between the ages of 18 and 35,
- be a citizen of the Russian Federation or one of African countries,
- be a leader or activist in a youth NGO / youth movement / student organization / representative of youth wing of a political party / young entrepreneur or start-up author / representative of the creative industries,
- be motivated to take an active part in the entire program of the forum,
- be focused on developing and improving the dialogue between youth of Russia and African countries,
- be motivated and able to organize events, projects and programs after the forum in cooperation with other forum participants,
- be ready to take part in all events planned within the framework of the forum program,
- be able to speak Russian or English.
The forum is held jointly by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodyozh), the National Youth Council of Russia and the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “MIREA – Russian Technological University”.
The project is being implemented using a grant from the President of the Russian Federation for the development of civil society provided by the Presidential Grants Fund.
Working languages will be Russian and English with simultaneous translation.
