6th Youth Forum of Belarus and Russia “Youth for the Union State” (archive event)

Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation is carried out on the basis of the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on cooperation in the field of youth policy dated June 30, 1995.

Youth events within the framework of bilateral cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus are held in accordance with the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the CIS Member States for the period up to 2020, the Action Plans for the implementation of the Strategy, the joint Action Plan of the Ministries of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus in the field of state youth policy.

One of key projects within the framework of bilateral youth cooperation between Belarus and Russia was the Russian-Belarusian Youth Forum. The event has been held since 2013 at the initiative of the National Youth Council of Russia and the Public Association “Belarusian Republican Youth Union”.

The 6th Youth Forum of Belarus and Russia “Youth for the Union State” was held from October 9 to 12, 2018 as a part of the 5th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in the Mogilev (the Republic of Belarus).

Heads or members of the Board of youth and student organizations of Belarus and Russia were invited to participate in the event.

Goals and objectives of the event

The project allowed to identify and disseminate examples of best practices for the implementation of international youth cooperation in Russia and Belarus. Main purposes of the Russian-Belarusian Youth Forum were 

• development of effective Russian-Belarusian youth cooperation including the intensification of interaction between representatives of youth public organizations in Russia and Belarus, 
• creation of conditions for the formation of bilateral projects in the socio-cultural and scientific sphere, 
• creation of conditions for the development of intercultural dialogue and humanitarian cooperation between youth of Belarus and Russia, 
• assistance in the development of sphere of youth policy and youth work.

Participants 

The forum brought together 50 representatives of youth and children’s public associations of Belarus and Russia.

Key results

During the debriefing forum participants adopted a resolution. A briefing organized by the National Press Center of Belarus took place.
