Forum of Youth Organizations of the CIS Member States (archive event)

The Forum has been held annually since 2015 at due to the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS Member States with the support of the basic organization of the CIS Member States for working with youth in accordance with the Agreement of the CIS Member States on cooperation in the field of youth work, the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation between the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States for the period up to 2020, the Regulation on the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS Member States and the Regulation on the Forum.

The forum is a joint event in the field of strengthening international youth cooperation and the implementation of youth policy in the CIS.

Participants are leaders of youth social movements, representatives of youth associations. In total 6 people from the Russian Federation participated there.

The goals and objectives are the development of international youth cooperation in the CIS for the disclosure of the creative, educational, social, spiritual and moral potential of the younger generation, the consolidation of youth social movement, strengthening friendship, mutual understanding and interaction between people of the CIS Member States as well as maintaining integration processes in the Commonwealth of Independent States.

In accordance with paragraph 5 of the decision of the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS Member States of April 29-30, 2021, the forum was scheduled to be held in the Republic of Belarus and Tajikistan in 2021.

Because of the worsening epidemiological situation and in accordance with paragraph 3 of the decision of the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS Member States of October 11-12, 2021, the forum was postponed.

In this case a delegation of the Russian Federation consisting of six people took part in the meeting in Minsk as part of the preparations for the Forum of Youth Organizations of the CIS Member States. The delegation included the heads of large public associations of Russia.

Within the framework of the event proposals for the program of the next forum, cooperation topics were discussed. A working meeting on interaction between youth organizations of Russia and Belarus was also held at the Republican Youth House where the leaders of youth and children’s public associations discussed a number of issues on the implementation of joint projects and cooperation in the CIS. 

Results:

• An international meeting was held within the framework of the Forum of Youth Organizations of the CIS Member States, 
• Participants discussed the preparation of the forum and current topics for the forum sites, 
• They tabled the prospect of creating an expert platform for leaders, 
• Participants also emphasized the forum is an important dialogue platform for the interaction of CIS organizations and the development of cooperation in the Commonwealth space.
