Russian-Kyrgyz youth-student meeting dedicated to the Year of Science and Technology of the Russian Federation (archive event)

The meeting is a joint event in the field of strengthening international youth cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan.

The event was held in a hybrid format (online and in person) for the purpose of youth educational and scientific interaction between Russia and Kyrgyzstan.

Within the framework of the meeting following events as opening with speeches by honored guests and organizers, thematic sections, discussion platforms and workshops took place. In addition to the working blocks, the excursion and cultural program, the master class were prepared for participants.

Participants were young people aged 18 to 35. They are students, graduate students, young scientists, university professors/specialists, employees of scientific organizations, authors and leaders of youth scientific and educational projects. In total 65 people participated there.

An application campaign was organized to participate in the forum including through the ADS Youth of Russia and through the Google form (187 applications). As a result of the selection an invitation with a link to an online connection was sent to 172 people to participate in the forum.

Key topics of the event were science, technology, innovation, current projects of student bilateral cooperation. The program included discussion platforms “Academic environment – a vector of development for young people” and “Youth technological business projects – start-ups: trends and prospects”, sessions from professional coaches including those on developing self-presentation skills as well as master classes and cultural-leisure program.

Outcomes: The international meeting was held to strengthen friendly ties and develop cooperation in the field of science and education. During the event experts together with participants discussed possibilities of cooperation, which will increase the value of youth scientific and educational exchange between Russia and Kyrgyzstan.

Participants of events put forward proposals for further cooperation including: 

• to continue the development of interaction between Kyrgyz and Russian youth through participation in online and offline events using modern approaches and new forms of participation, 
• to propose the implementation of joint programs that increase soft skills, communication and the ability to think critically in new formats (foresight sessions, sprint sessions, etc.), 
• expand the representation of youth – from aiyl and rural to urban,
• aggregate opportunities for young people both in terms of forum activity and their involvement in specific projects as joint research, laboratory practices, publications, etc. 

Participants also proposed training of young scientific personnel and improvement of their qualifications, popularization of science among youth through prestigious scientific and educational competitions, participation in international significant events.
