In the period from October 11 to 12 the regular meeting of the Council for Youth Affairs of CIS Member States was held in Kapan, the Republic of Armenia.
Rakhmonzoda Abdullo Kurbonali, the Chairman of the Council, the Chairman of the Committee for Youth and Sports Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, delivered an opening speech: “This meeting is special. It was organized on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Commonwealth of Independent States. At the same time it is very significant that the final events of the International Youth Project “100 Ideas for the CIS” are being held at the same time. Finally, the third feature is that today we are working in the Youth Capital of the Republic of Armenia in 2021″.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Key items on the agenda:
- development in the CIS Member States of legislation that defines foundations of state youth policy,
- implementation of the Action Plan for 2021-2022 for the development of the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the CIS Member States for 2021-2030 and the Action Plan for 2021-2023 for the implementation of the Concept for the cooperation development of the CIS Member States in support of the youth volunteer movement,
- results of the International Youth Project of the CIS Member States “100 Ideas for the CIS” implemented in 2020-2021,
- draft concept of the Recommendations “On measures to identify and support talented children and youth” prepared by MIREA – Russian Technological University,
- preparation of a joint sociological study of the CIS Member States to learn the situation of youth.
Grigory Petushkov, the Chairman of the National Youth Council of Russia, was elected the Chairman of the meeting.
