The First Russian-Syrian Youth Forum has started in Moscow

On November 28 the First Russian-Syrian Youth Forum began in Moscow. Its goal is to develop positive international contacts between youth of two countries through joint educational and project activities.

The official opening of the forum will take place on December 1 in Stavropol. As part of the program in Moscow a delegation from the Syrian Arab Republic visited the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo).

Pavel Shevtsov, the Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, met with forum participants. He highly appreciated the relations between the countries emphasizing the importance of strengthening bilateral youth cooperation.

According to him, the promotion of language programs, the exchange of knowledge, work with young people who want to study in the Russian Federation as well as with young people who only go to kindergartens and schools are all important areas for the development of Russian-Syrian relations today.

Pavel Shevtsov called the agenda of bilateral relations rich. Not so long ago, the Minister of Education of the SAR met in Moscow with the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. This meeting indicates that exchanges at various levels facilitate the rapprochement of our countries.

“We are very happy that young people are at the forefront of the rapprochement of our peoples, especially in the context of the Russian-Syrian Youth Forum. We want young people of two countries to acquire mutual knowledge about Syria and Russia,” the Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo emphasized.

According to him, now the task is to prepare specialists who will be needed by the Syrian economy in the course of various language programs and advanced training programs. The progressive movement in the development of humanitarian relations will only intensify.

The First Russian-Syrian Youth Forum is held jointly by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the National Youth Council of Russia, the North Caucasus Federal University and MIREA – Russian Technological University.
