Media forum “Belarus – Russia: equal union, common history, common future” was held in Moscow

On December 7 Moscow hosts the media forum “Belarus – Russia: equal union, common history, common future”.  It is dedicated to the 23rd anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union State.

The State Secretary of the Union State of Russia and Belarus Dmitry Mezentsev, the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov, the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Ivanets, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus  in the Russian Federation Dmitry Krutoy and other prominent representatives of state structures of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus addressed participants. 

Dmitry Krutoy noted the special role of the Union State in resolving many issues of bilateral cooperation in various fields. According to him, during 2022 more than seventy Russian delegations of various levels visited Belarus. The importance of the annual forum of regions is growing.

Organized in partnership with the Belarusian Republican Youth Union the Belarusian-Russian Youth Forum for ten years has become one of the most authoritative platforms for international youth cooperation in the Eurasian space.

The key topic of the dialogue was youth agenda of union building. Participants of the media forum discussed the interaction between Moscow and Minsk in the field of education, the role of students and young researchers in the scientific and technological development of our countries.

Separately they touched upon the issues of joint protection of the historical memory of the Victory over fascism.

The media forum was attended by the Chairman of the National Youth Council of Russia Grigory Petushkov, the First Secretary of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union Alexander Lukyanov, the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Union of Youth Alexander Mitrofanov, the Chairman of the Russian Union of Rural Youth Dmitry Pekurovskiy as well as representatives of RTU MIREA – the basic organization of the CIS Member States for working with youth.
