The Youth Forum of the CIS and the EAEU was held in the Kyrgyz Republic

On August 25-26 the Youth Forum of the CIS and the EAEU “Kelechek” (“Future”) was held on Lake Issyk-Kul in the Kyrgyz Republic. The event was timed to coincide with the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council with the participation of the Heads of Government of the EAEU Member States.

Delegates of the forum were more than two hundred young entrepreneurs, civil servants, representatives of creative youth, young diplomats and students from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan.

The event was directed at further development of cooperation between the Member States of the EAEU and the CIS, popularization of the idea of ​​Eurasian integration, creation of new opportunities for the implementation of initiatives, social and professional self-realization of the younger generation.

On August 26 within the framework of the forum a business breakfast was held for participants with Prime Ministers, Deputy Heads of Government of the EAEU and CIS countries, the Chairman of the EEC Mikhail Myasnikovich and the Chairman of the Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev. Russia was represented at a business breakfast by Alexei Overchuk, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

The delegation of the Russian Federation included representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Rosmolodyozh, the National Youth Council of Russia, the basic organization of the CIS Member States for working with youth (RTU MIREA).

The forum included master classes for young entrepreneurs, sessions dedicated to international youth cooperation in the CIS, expert meetings, projects were developed in the field of education. Also, a grant competition of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund and the “Clean Games” competition were organized at the forum site.

Forum delegates prepared proposals for the continuation of cooperation in the EAEU and the CIS. Among them were the creation of a volunteer navigator and an academic mobility fund, internships, the organization of the EAEU youth festival and the development of a community of young entrepreneurs of the EAEU.
