On November 2, 2021 the seminar “Russian-Japanese Youth Exchanges” was held online. The seminar is one of the main events of the Russian-Japanese Youth Exchange Plan for 2021.
The seminar was attended by representatives of state and public organizations from Russia and Japan interested in holding Russian-Japanese youth exchanges (school teachers, representatives of universities, youth public associations, youth workers), in total more than 180 people participated there.
The main purpose of the event is to inform about the possibilities of Russian-Japanese youth cooperation and to get acquainted with the methodology for conducting Russian-Japanese youth exchanges.
Within the framework of the seminar program a presentation “Russian-Japanese Youth Cooperation” was presented by MIREA – Russian Technological University acting as the Russian-Japanese Coordination Bureau for Youth Exchanges as well as a presentation of successful practices for the implementation of bilateral youth and school exchange projects and projects in the field of sports.
Experts of the seminar were the Deputy Director of the Institute of Youth Policy and International Relations of RTU MIREA Dina Sokolova, the Director General of the Japanese-Russian Youth Exchange Center Yoshihisa Tachi, the Head of the Japanese Center of the Secondary School No. 83 with in-depth study of Japanese and English in the Vyborgsky District of St. Petersburg Ekaterina Ivantsova, the Director of the Japan Information Center, the Head of the Department for the Development of International Cooperation and Education of the Orenburg State University Lyudmila Dokashenko, representatives of the Department for the Development of Cooperation of the Administration of Tottori Prefecture Kota Kageyama and Vyacheslav Li and the Director of the Tamakawa High School in Fukushima Prefecture, Kyokushinkan karate master Hiroto Okazaki.
During the Q&A session participants received information on the following issues:
- search for a partner organization,
- how to initiate a Russian-Japanese youth exchange,
- the possibility of financing Russian-Japanese youth exchanges.
Seminar organizers were MIREA – Russian Technological University acting as the Russian-Japanese Coordination Bureau for Youth Exchanges, the Japanese-Russian Center for Youth Exchanges (Tokyo) with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
