On December 15-18 Nizhny Novgorod hosted the Public Forum of young families “One State – One Family”.
The event was held in a hybrid format (online and in person) and became a unique discussion and practical platform for improving the situation of young families in the Member States as well as for building a dialogue between young people of the Union State and experts in the field of supporting family wellbeing.
One of the main topics was “Prevention of family conflicts”. In the sections on this topic practitioners-psychologists of the Russian Federation including representatives of the Family Center “Lada” of Nizhny Novgorod spoke. Participants themselves noted that this topic is central in every family, and the ability to manage conflict is the key to strong relationships.
Throughout the forum the following thematic platforms were organized: “Modern technologies for working with families. Lego”, “Clubs of young families as a strategic resource of territories”, “Family budget”, “The role of play in a child’s life. Modern approaches to game technology”, “What emotions have a place in family?”, “Participation of young families in volunteer activities”, “Support for young families”, “Successful practices of family leisure”. Within the framework of the forum a competition for the title of “Family of the Union State” was held, the winners of which were the married couple Tatiana Tretiak and Alexander Tretiak. Young people are raising three children. They are an example of active youth.
Organizers of the event were the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the basic organization of the CIS Member States for working with youth (RTU MIREA), the National Youth Council of Russia, the Information and Analytical Center of Moscow State University for the Study of Socio-Political processes in the Post-Soviet space (IAC MSU), the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian Republican Youth Union with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
As a result of the meeting a draft Resolution with proposals to relevant structures in order to support young families in Russia and Belarus, to preserve traditional family values in the space of the Union State was prepared.
