On December 1 ITMO University hosted the 9th All-Russian Forum “Topical issues of the development of student sports”.
At the opening of the forum issues of international cooperation in the field of student sports were also discussed. The President of the Russian Student Sports Union (RSSU) Sergey Seiranov noted that student sports in modern conditions is a good opportunity for building communications with other countries.
The plans for 2023 include holding the International University Sports Festival in Yekaterinburg with the participation of representatives of the CIS, SCO, BRICS in 14 sports.
The forum was attended by Deputy Director of the Institute of Youth Policy and International Relations RTU MIREA Dina Sokolova. It was agreed with colleagues from universities to discuss the possibilities of cooperation in the field of mass sports for 2023 within the framework of key international youth projects of RTU MIREA including under the auspices of the basic organization of the CIS Member States for working with youth, whose powers are performed by the university.
The forum was organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, the Russian Student Sports Union, the Association of Student Sports Clubs and ITMO University.
