Organization and holding a meeting of the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS Member States (archive event)

The purpose was discussion of important issues of horizontal relations between young people as a promising vector of an open dialogue among the CIS countries.

For the first time the meeting of the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS Member States was held online.

Participants were Members of the Council from the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Kyrgyz, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation and representatives with the powers of a Member of the Council from the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan. They also were representatives of the basic organizations of the CIS Member States for working with youth and development of youth entrepreneurship, CIS Executive Committee. Only 24 people participated there. 

As a part of the work reports and discussions were presented on following issues:

• On the experience of the Russian Federation in attracting young people to participate in events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and the organization of this work in the CIS Member States, 
• On the implementation of the Action Plan for 2018–2020 for the development of the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the CIS Member States for the period up to 2020 and on the draft Action Plan for 2021–2022 for the implementation of the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the CIS Member States in 2021–2030, 
• On the experience of organizing a youth volunteer movement in a situation of coronavirus pandemic and the implementation of the Concept for the Development of cooperation between the CIS Member States in support of the youth volunteer movement, 
• On the creation of a data bank with information about winners of the International Youth Project of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States “100 ideas for the CIS” and the implementation of the Project in 2020, 
• On results of the Forum of Youth Public Organizations of the CIS Member States in 2019 and the holding of the Forum in 2020. On the course of preparation of the draft Regulation “CIS Youth Capital” and on the practice of determining youth capitals in the CIS Member States, 
• On the implementation of decisions of the Council by the basic organization of the CIS Member States for working with youth. On results of work in 2019 and work in 2020 of the basic organization of the CIS Member States for the development of youth entrepreneurship, 
• On the International Youth Forum of the CIS Member States on the Sustainable Development Goals. On holding the next meeting of the Council. On the presidency of the Council.

Results:

• The meeting of the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS Member States was held to strengthen and develop cooperation in the field of youth work in the CIS, to promote the implementation of the Agreement of the CIS Member States on cooperation in the field of youth work dated November 25, 2005.
• Participants considered the agenda of the meeting and made agreed decisions included in minutes on 11 issues.

As a result of the meeting  following key decisions were made:

• The Chairman of the Council – Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Council, the Chairman of the Committee for Youth and Sports under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan A.K. Rahmonzoda was appointed for the next period, 
• The Regulation on the International Youth Forum of the CIS Member States on the Sustainable Development Goals was approved. A decision to hold the event in 2021 in the Republic of Azerbaijan was made, 
• The proposal for the development and implementation by the federal state budgetary institution “Centre for assistance to young professionals” of the Project “International Youth Business Exchanges of the CIS Member States for the development of youth entrepreneurship” was supported, 
• It was decided to work out the issue of conducting a joint sociological study of the CIS Member States in 2021-2022 to study the youth situation. To develop and approve the Interstate program “Youth Capital of the CIS”, 
• An Action Plan for 2021–2023 to implement the Concept for the development of cooperation between the CIS Member States in support of the youth volunteer movement was approved, 
• It was decided to approve in general the draft Action Plan for 2021–2022 for the implementation of the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the CIS Member States in 2021–2030 for its subsequent submission to the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CIS, etc.
