The Forum of Young Scientists of the CIS Member States is implemented in accordance with the Action Plan for the implementation of the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the CIS Member States. The main objectives of the event are to promote the development of research potential in the Commonwealth, assistance in the promotion and implementation of joint research projects in the Commonwealth, and popularization of science, technology and technology in the CIS.
At the opening of the forum the participants were welcomed by the Acting Director of the Department of State Youth Policy and Educational Activities of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Alexander Vedekhin, the Head of the Department for Cooperation on Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth of the Department of Humanitarian Cooperation, General Political and Social Problems of the CIS Executive Committee Tatyana Kovaleva, the Head Department of Education and Science of Rossotrudnichestvo Vadim Zaichikov, the Advisor to the Association of Technical Universities, the Director of the Intersectoral Educational and Scientific Center for Technological Development and Eurasian Integration of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University Valery Baltyan, the member of the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in the Scientific and Educational Spheres of the Presidential Council of the Russian Federation for Science and Education, the Vice-Rector for Research at MGIMO University Andrey Baikov, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Communication, the Professor of Moscow State Psychological and Pedagogical University Irina Shilina.
Within the framework of the forum the panel session “The CIS: points of contact for scientific youth”, the session “Scientific article: from idea to implementation”, the master class on fundraising, work in groups in humanitarian and technical areas, visits to scientific and laboratory sites, visiting the pavilion “Cosmos” at VDNH, workshop session, excursion program, creative master class, etc. were held.
Participants: representatives of youth public organizations, leaders of youth movements, representatives of government agencies implementing youth policy (the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan) became forum delegates. In total more than 94 people (delegates from countries, experts, speakers, organizers) became participants.
Key results: The Forum has become a unique platform that brought together representatives of eight CIS Member States (active young scientists and students including the chairmen of the Councils of Young Scientists of the Commonwealth countries) who made a number of proposals for further cooperation, promotion and implementation of joint research projects, popularization of science in the CIS area.
Within the framework of the forum program the participants were able to obtain an expert assessment on the issues of interaction between scientific communities in the CIS space, learn information about the activities of countries in the development of Councils of young scientists, learn more about measures to support young scientists, exchange experience in implementing scientific and educational projects in countries, develop proposals for implementation of further cooperation.
As a result of the event the participants contributed their ideas and proposals to the draft resolution of the forum.
According to the proposals received in the resolution of the forum and in accordance with the Action Plan for 2023–2024 for the implementation of the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the CIS Member States for 2021–2030, the next forum is planned for implementation in 2023 in the Russian Federation.
