Forum of Youth Organizations of the CIS Member States (archive event)

The forum has been held annually since 2015 at the initiative of the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS Member States with the support of the basic organization of the CIS Member States for working with youth in accordance with the Agreement of the CIS Member States on Cooperation in the Field of Youth Work, the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the CIS Member States, the Regulation on the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS Member States and the Regulation on the Forum.

The forum is the joint event in the field of strengthening international youth cooperation and the implementation of youth policy in the CIS.

The main goals are the development of international youth cooperation in the Commonwealth of Independent States to unlock the creative, educational, social, spiritual and moral potential of younger generation, consolidate youth social movement, strengthen friendship, mutual understanding and interaction between the peoples of the CIS Member States as well as support integration processes in the CIS.

In 2022 the forum was scheduled to be held in the Republic of Belarus during the XXXI International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar” in Vitebsk.

Participants: the delegates of the forum were representatives of youth public organizations, leaders of youth movements, representatives of government agencies implementing youth policy (the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the CIS Executive Committee).

In total 28 people participated there. From the Russian Federation 5 people took part in the event.

Key results: At the venues plenary discussions “Presentation of the activities of youth organizations of the CIS Member States” and “Prospects and opportunities for youth organizations of the CIS Member States” were organized following which the participants agreed to cooperate in specific joint events and expand cooperation in the Commonwealth.

One of the days of the forum’s program became the part of the Youth Day organized by the Belarusian Republican Youth Union and held on the stages of Vitebsk as part of the XXXI International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar”. The motto of the Youth Day is “Belarusian Republican Youth Union: 20 years together!” The program was opened by the patriotic action “Belarus remembers. We remember everyone”. Together with the participants of the festive events the delegates walked from the memorial complex “To the Liberators of Vitebsk – Soviet soldiers, partisans and undergrounders” to the city center.

Within the framework of the forum the meeting was held with the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Andrey Ivanets and the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union Alexander Lukyanov. The organizers called this discussion “100 questions from youth”.

The participants also visited the memorial complex “Khatyn” and the meeting-requiem “In the name of the common Victory” at the memorial complex “Shunevka”.
