The Japanese-Russian Youth Exchange Center (Tokyo) within the framework of the Russian-Japanese Youth Exchange Plan annually provides scholarships to young Russian researchers to conduct research in Japan.
Candidates under 40 years of age can apply for the 2022 scholarship competition. Requirements for candidates:
- citizenship of the Russian Federation and permanent residence in Russia,
- study at the master’s, postgraduate or doctoral studies,
- availability of confirmation from the host Japanese organization at the time of application,
- learning Japanese or English at a level sufficient to conduct research in Japanese institutions,
- desire to continue doing research on the chosen topic after returning to Russia,
- the absence of a confirmed scholarship or grant for study (research) in Japan received from another organization,
- good physical and mental health,
- the opportunity to have an online interview,
Candidates who have previously received a research scholarship from the Japan-Russia Youth Exchange Center are not allowed to participate in the competition.
The scholarship is issued for a period of 3 months to 1 year (further extension is not provided). The start date of the scholarship is from June to December 2022.
The competitive selection will take place in two stages:
Stage 1: verification of compliance of the submitted documents with the requirements of the competition,
Stage 2: conducting an online interview with candidates passed the selection in the first stage.
The package of documents for participation in the competitive selection must be sent to the Embassy of Japan in Russia or to the relevant Consulate General of Japan (depending on the region of residence of the candidate) before 12:00 (local time of the Region) on February 8, 2022.
