Next Russian-Azerbaijani Youth Forum will be held in March

The next Russian-Azerbaijani Youth Forum will be held in Azerbaijan in early March.

This statement was made on February 22 by the Russian President Vladimir Putin speaking to journalists following the results of negotiations with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev.

“Cooperation in the humanitarian sphere is also at a traditionally high level. Recently, the Days of Azerbaijan started in Moscow within the framework of which exhibitions, concerts, literary readings and many other bright cultural events will be organized. In turn, Azerbaijan will host another Youth Forum of two countries in early March,” the Russian leader stressed.

During the negotiations the heads of state signed the Declaration on Allied Interaction. The preamble of the document emphasizes the importance of rapprochement between two countries in the field of youth cooperation.

Separate provisions of the Declaration say that “the parties will promote cooperation including through specialized consultations between the relevant structures and organizations of two countries on a wide range of issues related to international information security, mass media, public and public diplomacy.”

It is further stated that “the parties intend to do everything possible to promote the preservation of the spiritual and cultural closeness of peoples of two countries <…>, continue to deepen mutual ties in the fields of culture and art, education, science, tourism and sports, promote the establishment of ties between public and youth organizations, educational organizations and educational institutions, innovation centres, the media in both bilateral and multilateral formats.”

The National Youth Council of Russia has been fruitfully cooperating with the National Assembly of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (NAYORA) for many years. The partners jointly prepared and held nine forums for youth of our countries.
