Draft Plan for 2023-2024 for the implementation of the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the CIS Member States

On July 20 the online meeting of the expert group was held to finalize and agree on the Draft Action Plan for 2023–2024 for the implementation of the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the CIS Member States for 2021–2030. Representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the CIS Executive Committee, the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States, the Mir Interstate Television and Radio Company, the Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation of the CIS took place there. 

The event was opened by Alexei Sazonov, the Director of the Department for Humanitarian Cooperation, General Political and Social Problems. The expert meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the National Youth Council of Russia Grigory Petushkov.

Experts discussed the Action Plan for 2023-2024 for the implementation of the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the Commonwealth countries prepared by the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS Member States. The document includes nine sections titles of which reflect the content of the provisions of the Strategy. It is expected that in the coming years traditional events such as “100 Ideas for the CIS”, the International Festival “Creativity without Borders”, the Forum of Youth Public Associations of the CIS Member States, and new ones, for example, the “Youth Capital of the CIS” will take place. 

A significant part of the events is aimed at expanding youth topics in the Internet space of the Commonwealth and meaningful online communication of young people.

For the first time most of activities related to young doctors have been included in the draft document.

A separate section of the plan is measures to preserve the memory of the feat of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War among younger generation.

As a result of the meeting experts prepared a draft Decision of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS on the approval of the Action Plan for next two years.
