On April 24-29 the Russian society “Knowledge” and the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation are holding the 2nd All-Russian educational campaign “Share your Knowledge. New Horizons”.
Scientists, government officials, entrepreneurs, employees of companies and public organizations visit schools, professional colleges and universities to share knowledge with the younger generation.
On April 28 as a part of the action, the lecture for students of the College of Programming and Cybersecurity at RTU MIREA on the topic “Russian-German professional youth exchanges: advanced training through the experience of international mobility” was held.
Dina Sokolova, the Head of the Russian Coordination Bureau for Youth Cooperation with Germany, told students about the history of Russian-German youth cooperation, main projects, opportunities and formats of professional youth exchanges with Germany.
At the discussion following the lecture students discussed what a young person can get by participating in a professional youth exchange, and made up a word cloud. The ranking of effects of professional youth exchange looks like this:
- Professional experience and knowledge.
- Language learning.
- Acquaintance with culture and intercultural exchange.
- New contacts.
- Communication.
Effects such as “self-development”, “professional growth”, “international friendship”, “connection of countries”, “new horizons” and “investment in the future” were noted.
The main topics of the lecture were:
- what are the requirements for youth exchange sites,
- how are youth exchanges financed,
- what are the opportunities for cooperation between youth of Russia and Germany in the new political conditions,
- how to organize a youth exchange in the field of IT.
