Russian-Tajik Youth Forum (archive event)

The Russian-Tajik Youth Forum is implemented annually. It is an important bilateral event in the field of strengthening international youth cooperation between Russia and Tajikistan.

In 2022 the Russian-Tajik Youth Forum “New Reality – New Media” was held in person for young people from the media sphere.

The program included opening with speeches by guests of honor and organizers, a press scrum, thematic speaker sessions, master classes, workshops, a competition for the best creative works of participants, excursion and educational blocks.

At the opening of the forum the participants were addressed by the Acting Director of the Department of State Youth Policy and Educational Activities of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Alexander Vedekhin, the Head of the Main Department of Youth Policy of the Chelyabinsk Region Svetlana Kalimullina, the Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan in Yekaterinburg Afar Sayidzoda, the Major General of Police, the Special Representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan in Russia Abdusator Fatozoda, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Police Colonel Emomali Umarchoni, the Acting Rector of the South Ural State University Alexander Vagner, the Chairman of the Chelyabinsk Regional Public Organization of the Tajik National Cultural Center “Istiklol” Fazliddin Gaforov.

Participants: young people aged 18 to 35 from Russia and Tajikistan, students and graduate students, young professionals, leaders and project managers of youth public organizations / associations. In total 80 people participated there.

Key results: The bilateral forum was held to strengthen friendly ties and develop cooperation between youth, youth organizations, state structures of Russia and Tajikistan, to promote the implementation of joint youth ideas and projects. Within the framework of the forum the experts and participants discussed aspects of state youth policy. It was noted that bilateral youth cooperation is an important component of maintaining relations between countries.

As a result of the event the participants received the number of proposals for the resolution of the forum including holding an annual bilateral youth forum in 2023 on the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan as an important dialogue platform for youth of the two countries, development of the media sphere with the possibility of organizing a project-competition for young media journalists of two countries. Among suggestions were joint media project “Cities” within the framework of which it is possible to compare cities of two countries with similar characteristics and talk about their similarities and differences, sights, conducting educational podcasts on the platforms of universities about the culture of Russia and Tajikistan, to unite youth experts of two countries to create and maintain a common Russian-Tajik group in social networks in order to strengthen and develop youth cooperation, etc.
