International Youth Forum “Women’s leadership: role in social and political life” (archive event)

The International Forum has become a dialogue platform aimed at discussing the role and position of women in the modern world.

Participants were students and graduate students, teachers and researchers of higher educational institutions, young professionals, young politicians, leaders and project managers of youth public organizations and media in Russia and abroad interested in gender issues. In total 457 people participated there. 

As a part of the program of the event round tables, panel discussions, lectures and master classes were organized.

The exchange of experience between young women leaders, the systematic study of the most successful practices to increase the importance of women in the states of the world, the holding of useful master classes to develop professional qualities as well as the creation of a resolution following results of the forum – the following aspects were identified as key goals and objectives of the forum. 

Each day of the forum was devoted to a specific topic, within which a range of tasks was also highlighted.

The first day of the event was held under the title “Woman in politics”. Among goals of the event were to discuss current issues and trends in women’s leadership, to familiarize the forum participants with the history of gender movements in different countries, to improve the communication skills of participants as a part of the master class “Negotiating strategy”.

The second day of the forum was devoted to the topic “Women in science”. Objectives of the meeting were the exchange of experience in the field of international scientific cooperation, coverage of problems and achievements of women in the scientific field, familiarization of the forum participants with time management techniques.

The topic of the third day’s meeting was “Women in the media”. Goals and objectives were to discuss activities of journalists in Russia and the world, problems of prejudice against a woman journalist, highlight the concept of feminists, main trends in their development and popularization as well as involve forum participants in an interactive training to acquire the skill of public speaking.

Results:

Following results of the International Youth Forum helped to adopt a resolution where participants of the event made their proposals, outlined main vectors of future global cooperation of women from all over the world, created a framework for the implementation of promising ideas and future joint projects.
